DIY Bass Drum Painting

I was looking for a cheap way to customize my bass drum and finally I did it with a stencil and a paint marker. Here goes the steps if you want to do it. Let me know if you need help.

What You Need?

A printer
A computer with a text editor like Open Office or Note Pad
A paint marker. I used Edding 751(between $3 and $7) - Posca won't work on this type of drum skin
A knife standard precision (around $3)
Tape

1
Print the name
First you need to choose a font to make your stencil. In this case I downloaded "boston-traffic.tiff" from this web : http://www.fontsquirrel.com/ .

Then use a text editor to print the name in the size you want.

2
Try it in the bass drum to check size and position

3
Cut the sheet of paper with the precision knife

4
Use the tape  to place your stick the paper to the skin

5
Trace the letters

6
Place the second paper and same thing

7
Done!

If you need help or want to comment, feel free. Hope it will help!

"Trop Vite Oublier" Traducción

Olvidado demasiado pronto

"Deja de hablar
deja de cantar
evita pensar
haré que te arrastres
te haré tragar la esperanza"

Olvidado demasiado pronto
para volver a empezar
el pasado vuelve esta noche
y nosotros en esta puta feria

nuestros ojos estan cerrados
nuestras manos estan bajadas
nuestros corazones arrancados
Nuestras almas tienen demasiado miedo de ver
que la luz misma es oscuridad

Es la ley del silencio
Sino ya estas muerto
es tu cuerpo que tiran
tu rostro que se tuerce
en medio del oceano
el asfalto como amante
los pies y puños atados
en nombre de la libertad
yo no la conozco
y tu ya estas muerto
yo no la conozco
y tu ya estas muerto.

Too soon forgotten

"Stop singing
stop talking
avoid thinking
I'll make you crawl
I'll make you swallow the hope"
Too soon forgotten
to start again
The past is coming back tonight
and us in this fucking carnaval
our hands are tied
our eyes are closed
our hearts are torn
our souls are too afraid to see
that even the light is dark
This is the law of silence
Either way you're already dead
it's your body that they toss
it's your face twisted
In the middle of the ocean
Concrete as a lover
Hands and feet bound
in the name of freedom
I don´t know it
and you're already dead
I don´t know it
and you're already dead
I don´t know it
and you're already dead

Edith Crash - "Dis, Quand Reviendras-tu?" (Barbara cover)

"Armed with her guitar and bare vocals, Edith Crash created a heartfelt and personal version of 1964 French hit “Dis, Quand Reviendras-tu?” written by Barbara.

Edith’s interpretation of this emotional tune is both classic and personal. The music video, shot by Florencia P. Marano with an Iphone, is a tribute to Barbara, the ”lady in black”. However, Edith truly wears her heart on her sleeve, singing the song with energy and intense feeling. Her guitar playing is just like her vocals: whispering softly or hitting hard. Peaks and valleys, just like the roller coasters in the music video."

Dis, quand reviendras-tu,
Dis, au moins le sais-tu,
Que tout le temps qui passe,
Ne se rattrape guère,
Que tout le temps perdu,
Ne se rattrape plus,

J´ai beau t´aimer encore, j´ai beau t´aimer toujours,
J´irai me réchauffer à un autre soleil,

Voy, vengo, me tuerzo, me giro y me arrastro
Tu imagen me atormeta te hablo bajito

________________English________________

So how many days, how many nights,
How long since you left, again?
You told me: "This time, will be the last voyage,
The last shipwreck, of our shattered hearts
In the spring, you'll see, I'll return
Springtime is a nice time to talk about love
Together, we'll watch the gardens bloom and
Stroll along the streets of Paris"

Tell me, when will you return
Tell me, that at least you know
That all the time that passes
Can scarcely be recaptured
That all the time lost
Will never return

Springtime is already long gone
The dead leaves crackle
The firewood burns
Paris is so beautiful during these late autumn days
But suddenly I weaken, I dream, I shiver
I flutter, I shake, and like the same old song
I go, I come, I veer, I turn around, I hang on
Your image haunts me, I whisper to you
I am lovesick, and I long for you

Tell me, when will you return
Tell me, that at least you know
That all the time that passes
Can scarcely be recaptured
That all the time lost
Will never return

I may still love you, I always might
I may have loved only you, with all my heart
But if you don't understand that you must return
I will take our most beautiful memories
And set sail on a new course, the world captivates me
And I will warm myself with another sun
I am not one of those who dies of sorrow
I do not have the virtue of a sailor's wife

Tell me, when will you return
Tell me, that at least you know
That all the time that passes
Can scarcely be recaptured
That all the time lost
Will never return
